De l'art si je veux A new work by Nicolas Clauss, Samia Ahbizat, Meïssa Belharat, Yannis Boukhalfa, Amélie et Anthony Fisson, Coralie Geslot, Jean-François Goyer et Houria Zenasni. The paths of contemporary art are so numerous and sometimes so radical that it is amazing, if not useful, to wonder how a naive audience views it; this instance, adolescents from a working-class area. Beyond any cultural references, all genuine interpretations teach us a great deal. For several months, the young participants were surrounded by significant works of the 20th century. They then gave expression to their impressions through film, interviews, surfing the Net, creating their own images, reflecting a world that might appear inaccessible. The gamble was to create a work of art from this happy undertaking of demystification, this dream factory. Using photos, videos and sound, these young people share
with us, through interactive creations, their impressions and their
own relationship with Art and the artists*
they chose. An exhibition of these works will be held in May 2005 at the Espal centre, produced by Nicolas Clauss and Jean-Noël Montagné.

an approach to new technologies through a creative process. ~ L'espal Within the space of a few years, the Espal cultural centre has acquired a national reputation, welcoming contemporary works in the field of dance, theatre, nouveau cirque, visual arts and multimedia. 22 500 people passed through its doors last year. Many young people have viewed the exhibitions which have often given them a desire to paint, to write, to move, to invent new images of themselves and what surrounds them. The important thing is this movement, this curiosity, this desire to give expression in return through words, dance or drawing, motivated by the artists encountered and the emotion felt. For 4 years, the Espal centre has been developing its
cultural and artistic actions in the field of new techniques through
the multimedia workshop (Cybercentre) and interactive exhibitions by
young artists. ~ with support of the french Culture and Communication Ministery. |
